Sai centres throughout the nation relentlessly plunge into service, serving the poor, sick and needy. Regular visits to hospitals, old folks home, orphanages and other underprivileged centres are common.
Under the recent SaiCare Programme, the council launched a series of activities — donations of wheel chairs, repair of homes for the hard core poor, transforming houses with leaks and broken ceiling to liveable homes, donation of dentures to the poor, free surgeries and dry ration to hundreds of poor families. To this date, the council has adopted 45 communities where regular service activities continue to be rendered.
Blood donation is another major initiative and the Sathya Sai Baba Central Council of Malaysia is recognised as one of the leading NGOs by the Government for collecting the highest number in pints of blood especially during the Muslim fasting month where blood banks throughout the nation goes dry.
