Tadika Sai Dharma Graduation Ceremony
Tadika Sai Dharma, held its fourth graduation ceremony on Saturday, 5th October 2011 at the Sivanantha Memorial Hall in Bandar Seremban Selatan. The meaningful ceremony was made possible by the noble intentions of the devotees of the Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Seremban Selatan, who started this project to provide free early education for the needy Indian children in the vicinity. Tadika Sai Dharma was founded in 2007 by the devotees, with the support of CCI (Centre for Community Initiative).
The MCA Rembau Division chief, Dato’ Goh Siaw Huat, officiated the graduation ceremony. Dato’ Goh represented Yang Berhormat Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin who was unable to attend the function due to a prior engagement. In his speech, Dato’ Goh commended the selfless hard work of the Sai devotees and he stressed on the importance of providing early education to children as this would enable them to grow into confident and efficient future leaders. In addition, Dato Goh’ affirmed that projects such as these are in line with the government’s vision to provide pre-school education for all children and that the government is eager to provide financial aid for such charitable organisations. In line with this notion, a cheque amounting to a thousand ringgit(RM 1000) was presented to the organization.
The Chairman of the Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Seremban Selatan and Tadika Sai Dharma , Bro. Thamotharan Gopal, commenced his speech by appreciating the time and effort put forth by his committee members and the kindergarden teachers. Bro Thamo, as he is fondly addressed, also gave a review of the annual projects and activities carried out for the benefit of the Tadika Sai Dharma students. The success of these events again highlighted the Sai devotees’ intention to provide quality pre-school education, counselling and religious guidance. These are all for the betterment of the community and to reduce the social ills which come hand in hand with poverty. Bro. Thamo also thanked the Bandar Seremban Selatan community for rendering continuous support for the growth of the kindergarden which managed to enroll 36 students in 2008, 56 students in 2009, 73 students in 2010 and 68 students in 2011.
The graduation ceremony was also graced by the presence of Mr Sugumaran, the National Educational Vice President of Sathya Sai Council Malaysia. Mr Sugumaran’s speech inspired the community members to be focused on providing their children with a solid foundation in education and religion, in order to help the future generation to stay on the path of truth and succeed in their endeavours.
As for the students’ presentations, it must be mentioned here that they portrayed the dedication of the teachers, as the students were all high-spirited and motivated to give their best. The programme comprised Indian, Malay and Chinese dances, poetry recitals and speeches to show appreciation of their parents. The programme ended with the presentation of scrolls to proud, young students of Tadika Sai Dharma.
From a spectator’s point of view, this graduation ceremony created immense admiration and awe for the members of the Bandar Seremban Selatan Sai Baba Centre. It takes a great soul to think beyond oneself and reach out to make life better for the less fortunate. At the graduation ceremony, there were many great souls present, who gave so much of themselves yet expected nothing in return. This experience created an urge in many present to rise and serve the community in any small way possible.
