Honouring the Children
October 6th 2011, was a day to remember for the Seremban SSE children for never had Vijaya Dashami been celebrated with so much of enthusiasm among the children with at least 8 drummers, nal players and tablists all of them being SSE students. The event was celebrated with children adorning Devi’s feet with flowers to the recitation of the namavali, followed by bhajans which they led splendidly. The whole atmosphere during the bhajans was vibrant. One of the older children was given the honour of doing the arathi.
There was a meaningful choral speaking presentation on why Vijaya Dashami was celebrated by the children and the whole occasion culminated with them getting belated prizes since there had to be a suitable occasion for the prize-giving ceremony. The educare Carnival that was celebrated at state level a few months ago saw the centre SSE children winning the choral speaking both English and Malay, as well as the action song, both English and Malay. The group 4 students of the centre also won the Speak Up and Act out (Malay). Since prizes were given as a team, the Seremban centre thought it befitting to reward and honour the children who were in the team, individually and hence the prize-giving.
The event ended with children with dinner sponsored by a parent and with the children walking away with a sense of joy and contentment after having gathered their books that were blessed , from the altar.
