Sathya Sai Trust Press Release: Inventory of Items found at Whitefield & Prashanti Nilayam
Below is the press release (in three parts) released by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust:
July 18th 2011:
As announced in our earlier Press Conference, the inventory was continued at the second building of Yajur Mandir and four rooms of Poornachandra chambers today. The inventory was conducted in the presence of the Trustees along with Sri.V.Durgadas-Collector, Ananthapur district, Sri.Venkatesam-Special Officer, Sri B.R Eswar, RDO ,Sri M.Manjunatha Rao.MPDO,
Sri D.Kodanda Rami Reddy,Tahsildar,G.Nagabhushanam,Tahsildar,C.Sathyanarayana,
Tahsildar and other officials, who were present as observers at the specific request of the Trust.
The inventoried items fall generally into the following categories.
- Articles used for worship,pooja and yagnams like lamps,Pathrams,baskets etc
- Articles used for distribution during marriages,festivals and similar functions like Thali Bottus,chains and medallions
- Mementos like shields,plates,artefacts like coins.
The above items contain an approximate estimated quantity of 34.5 kg of gold and 340 kg of silver.
Cash,to the extent of Rs 1,90,53,899 was also inventoried.
The inventory in the Poornachandra chambers is expected to conclude tomorrow.
The Trust would like to point out that this is not a ‘search’ as reported in a section of the media today. This is an ongoing inventory process that the Trust is conducting for which they had requested the Government to send its representatives.
ANY MEDIA REPORTING THIS INVENTORY AS A ‘SEARCH’ WOULD BE INDULGING IN DELIBERATE MISREPRESENTATION OF FACTS AND WOULD CONSTITUTE A TRAVESTY OF TRUTH.

Prashanthi Nilayam, July 19, 2011: The inventory was continued on the second day (July 19,2011) at Prashanthi Nilayam. The inventory was done in the presence of the Trustees, the Collector of Anantapur District and the District and
Sai Kulwanth Hall Backside.
The following items were inventoried today (July 19, 2011):
Cash of Rs. 36,87,211
SSSCT/2011/10 sent yesterday covered the inventory on the first day. With today’s release (SSSCT/2011/11) being sent herewith, the inventory of valuables in Prashanthi Nilayam is complete.

July 20th 2011:
Continuing inventory in Brindavan, Whitefield:
Kadugodi, July 20, 2011: After completing the inventory at Prashanthi Nilayam, the Trustees took up this work at the Trayee Brindavan in the Brindavan Ashram, Whitefield, near Bangalore. Apart from them, the inventory was done in the presence of Sri M.K.Aiyappa, Deputy Commissioner, Bangalore District and Dr.P.S.Harsha, Deputy commissioner of Police, Bangalore South East, along with their assistants, who were there as independent witnesses at the specific request of the Trust to the Government of Karnataka.
This inventory covered the entire Trayee Brindavan building.
The following items were inventoried today (July 20, 2011):
Gold in the form of chains, Thali Bottus and coins – 6.09Kg
Silver in the form of Idols, Dinnerware, Poojaware, Medallion – 245.368 Kg
Cash of Rs. 80,50,500.
The cash has now been deposited in the Bank Account of the Trust in the Kadugodi Branch of Canara Bank.
We also wish to inform that the Trust has paid today a tax amount of Rs.4.81 crore based on the value of inventory done on 18th and 19th July.
WITH THIS, THE INVENTORY EXERCISE UNDERTAKEN BY THE TRUST IS COMPLETE.
